Nancy Gets NOTHING!

What is it with me and these Mercy Ministries videos?

Naomi Johnson's radio interview with Howard Sattler.

The source video for footage of Nancy Alcorn.

Special thanks to MercyGirl777 for suggesting I make the vid, and the Mercy advocates who left comments on my videos like these (emphasis mine):

I've seen sooooo many girls graduate the program a much better person. And go on to do such amazing things.
Never were there exorcisms etc. it's a Christian based program which is clearly stated during the whole application process.
If you are not willing to accept that- this program isn't right for you. Let me reiterate that Mercy Ministries is a VOLUNTRY program. I entered the program then left- I wasn't ready. -giorgiosbf

this video is bull!i went 2 mercy as a resident myself & they explain 2 u all the rules & the fact that it is centered around God & His healing (not the programs) & each girl is handeled uniquely but there are definately lots of rules that are enforced for the protection of the girls. (they even give u a copy of the handbook in the application) i went 2 the nashville home & for the 9months i was there we never gathered around eachother praying & "casting out demons". if u need help, call mercy! -lindayhamre

Ok, I'm not saying you are wrong, because maybe Mercy in Sydney does mistreat women. I went to Mercy in America and the staff there loved us beyond belief. We saw psycologists, we didn't have to ask permission for anything, our belongings weren't kept under lock and key. I am very sorry for what you went through, but Mercy in America is different. There were no exorcisms. Everything in Mercy in the US was unbelievably loving, caring, and supportive. Unconditional love and grace was offered there -christiangrrl24

So either Mercy is lying or... um... Mercy is lying.

'Casting out demons' is kind of an ambiguous phrase in a lot of fundamentalist Christianity - it doesn't necessarily mean exorcism. Of course, that's probably why Nancy chose that phrase instead of saying, 'yeah, we put them on their knees for hours and shout Bible verses at them.'

amen to what Rachel said.... if you take the time to look into christianity and religion.... casting out demons, delieverance and 'exorcism' ... you might understand it a bit better, instead of taking on societys 'labels' for these things
delieverance... the thing that they do do at mercy is far different to say... the things that happen in the movie 'exorcism of emily rose'.

i witnessed delieverance in my church... and its far from what happens in the exorcism

you gotta be careful with picking up societys labels... if you listent To society all the time, the worlds gonna be a mess!

Actually, "Deliverance" is the neo-pentecostal/Assemblies of God term. And Rachel is right, from what I've read, some can get pretty violent.

That and exorcisms by the Catholic church under stricter regulation now (psychiatric evaluation must take place) than those done by the Assemblies of God (which has ties to both Mercy Ministries and Teen Challenge).

And Steve, are you the Steve of stupidchurchpeople.com?

man you obviously have huge problems here and unless you have experienced it for yourself you have no authority to be talking the crap that you are.

i wish you all the best, and pray... as society says "God comes and zaps you and knocks you out of your fairy land you are living in"

oh...and no, im not.

Someone got-ums the butthurt, Stevie? And yeah, I do have huge problems with nepotists like you who are more concerned about good PR than the fact that people were harmed by the practices of this "ministry".

And Steve, I know what it's like to got through "deliverance"/exorcism, One time a guy performed one on me in a moving vehicle (and he was driving, taking his hands off the wheel to do so) for disagreeing with him on the subject of a popular xtian self-help book.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Stevie.

PASTOR STEVE..... not stevie said...

lol, the guy doing it on you was probably just as looney as you are by the sounds of it... gosh exorcisms in a moving vechicle, has to = looney

lol, just too funny... oh my gosh, cant stop laughing. your the butt of your own joke man.

God bless ya ... 'points the finger'....*zap*

Unfortunately she convinced a couple of the girls (who had not spent as much time there) of what she was saying. Before they met with her, I tried to warn them that she can be very convincing, but for some reason they won't believe me like they wanted people to believe them.

Did you show them the video footage of Nancy bragging about the use of exorcism?
